CONNECT & GROW
{VIRTUAL} GROUPS
FAQs:
What is a Virtual Group?
In these unique times, we are quickly learning how valuable and life-giving it is to connect online with one another. Just to see a familiar face, meet someone new, talk candidly about real stuff, and pray together. This is what Virtual Groups are all about!
Do I need to prepare anything in advance?
Groups do not have homework. The goal is for you to enjoy time connecting with others with guided discussion and time for prayer. The Marriage/Family Group may at times have items you can work on during the week.
Do I need to understand technology well?
If you have a smartphone, you have what you need to jump into a Group (connect to wi-fi to avoid using your data).
The experience will be best using a computer (with internet) that has a camera, but smartphones work too!
Groups will use a face-to-face online meeting platform such as Zoom or Google Hangouts. There may be some hosts who prefer Facebook or Skype; they will work with you on the best choice for your group. The beautiful thing about technology these days is that programmers work hard to make these meeting platforms function as easily and intuitively as possible for you! Should you experience technological difficulties, have patience and reach out to your host. We are happy to help!
Here is an overview of various online meeting platforms and what to expect.
How long is each meeting?
Groups meet once a week for 45-60 minutes. They will be available as long as our state has its Stay Home, Stay Safe orders.
Next Step:
Peruse the Groups and sign up for a meeting time.
Your Group Host will contact you with online meeting info.

Community, Discussion, and Family Midrash*
*A Midrash is an ancient Hebrew interpretation of Scripture, that is decided on and written down as a community. As Christians we can use a similar framework as a way to dive more deeply into Scriptures pertaining to family and marriage and together find deeper clarity and confidence about important marriage and family dynamics as followers of Jesus.
